Ma integration is a mathematic process that uses the integral formula to find areas of objects in various dimensions. The formula is often employed in engineering and physics to calculate center of gravity, mass moment of inertia and the kinetic energy of objects moving. It is also useful in other fields such as determining the speed of a object and determining its trajectory.

Managing the integration of work streams requires dedicated and visible leadership and clear communication procedures. The most frequent cause for failure in integration is conflicting cultures, such as an acute-care mindset versus an approach to healthcare that is based on the population (Hardy and co. 1999; Coburn 2001). Leaders should promote and support one vision across the entire company, while also creating an environment that promotes this vision.

One of the most significant risks of integration is the loss of key talent. Inability to address the culture issue and the lag between new organizational structures management, leadership and the organization causes highly skilled executives to leave to other opportunities. This loss can be reduced by ensuring that the leadership team is maintained throughout the transition, and by creating a system for employee identification that is based more on talent than seniority.

Internal newsletters, project management tools, and interactive platforms are helpful for communicating progress on integration milestones and allowing stakeholders to give feedback. Meetings with stakeholders are another efficient communication tool to sustain momentum, increase trust and engagement and address any concerns. Regular updates keep employees engaged in the process, while highlighting how the integration has enhanced business results and added value for shareholders.
